Leopoldskazerne - provincial government building
Description
In 2023 and 2024, we played our part in the renovation of the former gendarmerie barracks in Ghent for the contractor Democo. These barracks were converted into a new, vibrant urban neighbourhood, centred around the new provincial government building for the province of East Flanders.

Commercial kitchen with self-service counters and a clearing area
In this new provincial government building, we installed a commercial kitchen featuring self-service counters and a clearing area of our own design, cold stores and freezer rooms from Isomasters, a tunnel dishwasher from Winterhalter, and a bespoke cooking line complemented by a Multicooker from Devapo. What makes this project special is that the county council was seeking a sustainable and eco-friendly solution for small kitchen waste; to manage this effectively, we installed a compost bin that composts up to 10 kg of organic waste every day.
