LDC Den Troef
Description
For the Den Troef Local Service Centre in Balen, we created a compact yet fully equipped production kitchen and bar facilities for the centre’s cafeteria concept. Catering is provided by the care centre’s own staff. Despite the limited space, we managed to integrate all the necessary appliances into a single, well-organised kitchen layout, paying particular attention to working comfort and a smooth workflow.

Design and approach
The kitchen design was developed in close collaboration with the end client, ensuring that the result fully meets the needs of the centre and its visitors. The limited space called for a well-thought-out layout: by cleverly adjusting the layout, it was possible to accommodate all the necessary appliances in a single room, without compromising on ease of use or safety.
The project was carried out by Lamers Construction, with whom the collaboration went exceptionally smoothly. Partly as a result of this, the completion date was met well in advance.
Kitchen fittings & appliances
As this is a cafeteria concept, a carefully selected range of appliances is sufficient. The production kitchen is fitted with an oven with a concealed door and a two-zone induction hob. The washing-up area has been integrated into the kitchen via an under-counter dishwasher, which keeps the workspace compact.
In the adjoining room, a single cold store has been provided for the storage of kegs and drinks.
Bar fittings
The bar fittings were created in collaboration with the architectural practice TRiAS and the joinery firm Inside Projects. The ensemble comprises a worktop with a beer tap system and a pass-through drinks cooler, tailored to the rhythm and scale of a local community centre.
